I’m transitioning… again.
Hi pals! I wanted to hop on real quick and share an update/announcement.
I am transitioning again. You may have already figured that out… Especially if you saw my shenanigans on my instagram story yesterday…
I have been Creating in the Mitten, Creating in the Mountains, SamBartley, and now SamBartleyDesigns. I love who I am and what I represent, but my artwork was, well, lacking that “Sam"-ness”.
So, yes, I am still creating and making art and designing my little heart out, but the art is going to better reflect who I am as an artist, a person, and what I believe in.
My art is unique, but in a way that isn’t how you might imagine it.
A lot of my pals crochet. Some do resin and paintings and sewing and chainmail and woodworking and all of these amazing crafts, but my struggle was I want to do them all at the same time. I have “gothic” and “witchy” and “cozy” and “cottage core” pals, and I am not hating on them. I love plushies and t-shirts and tumblers and sun catchers as much as the next person, I buy more than I should if I am being honest, but I want to make art that someone says “I haven’t seen anything like this before!”
So that’s what I am doing.
My next release will be the beginning of a new adventure.
I am combining vintage clothing I cut up with sewing and crochet and chainwork.
I am hand placing stones and gems and charms and decorations on swords and daggers and axes and then hand linking the metal work and fairy lights.
I am designing clothing that you want to wear that expresses who you are as you, and I think that’s pretty hecking magical.
I am still crocheting silly things, like my Leggy Frogs and my Peens, beanies too! Those always sell well, pals love to wear them or snuggle them, and I love to make them, most of the time.
But for the most part, the art will be slow, the fashion will be hand made, and the decor will be worthy of displaying in your home.
What does that mean for SamBartley.com? Well, that’s going away..
I have started to slowly move over my patterns and tutorials and those will be going live here in November (maybe sooner), and then come January there won’t be a SamBartley.com, just SamBartleyDesigns.com <3
My other platforms were already SamBartleyDesigns, so YouTube and Instagram and Tiktok and Facebook will all stay the same, but the website was hecking old and I have broken the code so many times I can’t fix it anymore, and I just wanted a fresh start where I could just chat with y’all and take you on this adventure of growth and discovery with me, while providing a space for pals to order custom work, purchase ready-to-ship items, book me for crafting parties, or just read about my shenanigans.
